Claire did her initial medical training in Tasmania, before seeing the light and moving to the mainland to work.
After graduation, she did further training in paediatrics, eventually gaining a Diploma in Child Health (DCH). Then she decided to get some practical experience, and had 3 children of her own!

Claire is a GP of many years’ standing. She has been in her own practice in Nabiac for the last 15 years. Now that she has moved to Newcastle for her children’s schooling, she has decided to work in Newcastle as well.
Claire has special interests in Paediatrics, Women’s Health and Psychiatry, as well as the whole range of General Practice.
Hours
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm
Thursday 8.30am – 1pm.

Dr Safwat Khalid
MD FRACGP
Dr Khalid has worked in several large hospitals around Australia, including Wollongong, Mount Gambier and Wyong. He has also worked in general practices in rural and remote locations around Australia. In Newcastle, he worked in John Hunter Hospital for 2 years, and then ran a general practice in Merewether for some time.
His particular interests include men’s health, general medicine and skin checks.
Since graduating Dr Khalid has continued to increase his knowledge by doing further studies.

Safwat is a keen volunteer, He willingly gave his time to serve in the Kashmir earthquake zones in Pakistan for a month alongside a Cuban medical team.
His hobbies include playing tennis, reading and watching movies.
He speaks English, Spanish, Urdu and Punjabi.
